Upcoming Workshops
Veil Choreography Level 1 - Saturday, Sept. 20th, Noon-2 PM
Unveil your inner dancer in this fun workshop presented by Persephone's Daughters. Cat and Kara will introduce several common veil moves along with a complete veil choreography appropriate for belly dancers of all levels. Veil work enhances a belly dancer's movements and helps develop strong, graceful arms. Bring your own 3-yard silk veil or borrow one while supplies last. Silk veils and other belly dance accessories will also be available for purchase during the workshop. Location: The Wellness Center, Room 3. Price: $30 for non-members.
Hip Hop Shimmy - Saturday, Oct. 11th, Noon-2 PM
Modern belly dancers often fuse other dance styles with traditional Middle Eastern dance movements to create exciting new combinations that work really well with contemporary Middle Eastern pop, hip-hop and techno music. Kara of Persephone's Daughters will introduce you to some of these innovative dance moves in a workshop geared to get your heart pumping and hips shaking to hot, exotic rhythms. Appropriate for non-dancers and belly dancers of all levels, this intense 2-hour workout will spice up your fitness regime. Sassy hip scarves and other belly dance accessories will be available for purchase during the workshop. Location: The Wellness Center, Aerobic/Dance Studio. Price: $30 for non-members.
